Tuesday June 7th: off to Garmisch, Germany

For most of the 2nd half of our vacation we had our home base from Garmisch. It is located in what they call Bovaria in the southern part of Germany. We stayed 5 nights at the Edelweiss Lodge and Resort. It is a resort for military families.

The autobahn means highway. And yes there are parts of the highway that there is not a speed limit. However there is so much traffic there it is very difficult to travel too fast. This sign means go as fast as you want...no speed limit.

Are we there yet?

We did manage to go 110mph in a Mercedes!!

We stopped to eat at a Bovarian restaurant called Restaurant Cafe of Lechblick. Here the kids are playing outside.

This geranium was HUGE!

The restaurant was right off the lake. The food was very good!!

We had a 2 bedroom loft style room. It was very nice.

These pictures are of the view off of our balcony.
