Oklahoma Family

This weekend we went to Edmond, Oklahoma to spend some time with family. My Uncle Billy (my (Jodie) mom's brother) and Aunt Janie live there. As well as their two sons and families. We have not spent much time with them in quite awhile...it was a blessing to visit with them.

My cousin Ben has just opened a restaurant called Spicy Pickle. We ate lunch there and it was very good. It reminds me a little of Panera however they serve pizza as well. If you are in the Oklahoma City area I recommend it! www.spicypickle.com

So often our culture counts rich as the money we make or the material things we have. How wrong we are to be satisfied in that...it will never satisfy us...we always find ourselves wanting more. The Lord reminded me this weekend how rich my family truly is. We may not have the biggest home or the nicest car or the latest gadget but we have amazing family. And for that we are so grateful!! Thank you Lord for our family!!

Oklahoma City Memorial Run

This past Sunday morning I took part in the Oklahoma City Memorial half marathon. It was a wonderful event. There were about 19,000 runners total, an awesome turn out. While I was running Ben took the kids around the memorial and told them the story of what happened that day.

Oklahoma City has done a spectacular job in the memorial and maintaining the honor of the victims.

Pops Restaurant

On our way home we stopped at Pops. Pops is a gas station, restaurant and soda ranch on Route 66. We ate breakfast and it was pretty tasty. And of course we had to try a soda. We got an Orange Cream Soda...very good choice!

"The Best Thing About Easter"

We hope you all had a blessed Easter Sunday!

Here are the kids in their Easter Best.

It was cold and rainy outside on Easter. So...we had an indoor egg hunt. Here are the cousins with all of the eggs they were able to find. The guys probably hid 150 eggs or so around the house. Thanks Grandma and Cherith for bringing filled eggs!!

A Beautiful Spring Day...

No...It Can't Be Over!!

Spring Break has ended and the kiddos head back to school this week. In times past I am ready for the Monday after spring break... especially after the kids have been arguing and starting to drive me a little insane. But this time it was different.

After thinking about why it went better than normal, two things come to mind...

First, I have been praying for Jake's and mine relationship to grow and that this week we could really enjoy one another.

Second, God has been showing me that parenting is nothing personal. And if my kids do actually obey it is all by His grace.
