Black Knights Basketball 2012

This winter for basketball our last year Heat team combined with the Jets hoping to be able to compete at a higher level. We had a pretty good run throughout the season. In league we finished with one loss and in 2nd place. In our league tournament we played the 1st place team in the championship game and lost by one point. It was such an exciting game watching the boys play so hard.
As an assistant coach it was rewarding to get to know these 4th grade boys, they were a lot of fun to be around! There was a lot of improvement as individual players and as a team!!

Hall Bathroom Remodel

These top two pictures are the first day of demo. We start to realize four of us will be using the master bath...hopefully it wont take too long!

The bottom two pictures are of the new sheet rock and the walls prepped. We just got our tile in and we are excited to see the bathroom come together.

Girl Cousin Fun!

Last August Kacie and I suprised Addi with tickets to see Miranda Cosgrove in concert. Miranda ended up getting in a wreck and hurt her ankle. So...Cody Simpson played a concert instead. The girls had a great time!! We went and ate at Chipotle and then off to watch Cody.

Go Shocks!

Jacob opened a box on Christmas morning that had only one Shocker v. Creighton basketball ticket. We told him that we were going to just drop him off and let him go by himself. He was actually OK with that. Later we had Grandpa Denny open his box and he had a single basketball ticket. Jacob quickly figures out that he and Grandpa are going to the Shocker game together.

A Blessed Christmas!

Christmas time is always one of our family favorites! We look forward to the traditions that this time of year presents itself. From doing our Advent Jesse Tree to decorating the Christmas Tree to watching Elf to Christmas parties to so many other wonderful things. These first couple of pictures are of us after Christmas Eve service.

The kids are getting excited because they know they are going to be opening a gift with new jammies in it. They also get a  new game on Christmas Eve. We all get in our new pjs and play the new game together.

I had to show Kacie's "Christmas" fingernails. They have Christmas lights painted on them.

Before we opened up our presents on Christmas morning we had the privilege to help serve breakfast to the homeless at First Baptist Church in downtown Wichita. Ben's dad is very involved with this ministry. Ben's mom is the Sunday School teacher of the women who come to the Sunday breakfast. It was neat to watch Ben's parents have such respect from those who attend the breakfast on a regular basis. I think they know that Ben's parents love Jesus and love them too.

Jake and his automatic NERF gun

Kacie was so surprised to get her IPOD touch! She had just 40 dollars left to save before she bought it. We payed the 40 dollars for a Christmas gift and she got it earlier than she thought. It was so fun watching her open this one!!

Ben got some new work out clothes.

Cali got a BUSY BONE. It kept her busy for 2 hours...even she was having a good morning!

After everyone was done with church stuff in the morning, the Karsak's spent the rest of the day together. We had a great meal, wonderful fellowship with a guarantee of laughter and we were blessed with great generosity.

The cousins all got new Chiefs jerseys

Jacob turns TEN!

Jacob turned 10 on November 30th. He had his buddies Grant, Aaron, Mason, Tabor, Adam and Preston over to celebrate with him. Ben took the boys cosmic bowling from 10p-1a. When they got home they watched a couple of movies. Poor Aaron fell asleep and he ended up with painted finger nails. He was a good sport about it though! It seems as if they all had a good time.
It is hard to fathom that Jake is a decade old. The last 10 years with him in our lives has been truly AMAZING. He adds so much color to our days! God has blessed us with the gift of Jacob more that we could have ever imagined. Jake we look forward to the  next ten with you...just maybe time will slow down a little though!

A silly picture of course...

Thanksgiving

For Thanksgiving 2011 we once
again had family from Iowa and New Mexico in town. Along with Jan's (Bens mom) brothers, this year Brian (Bens cousin) and his two kids came to visit.

AJ with Colton and Kenzie. Kenzie was a trooper and waited in the Target line with me, Jake and Kacie at midnight on Thanksgiving. After 6 months or so of saving and birthday money, Jake finally had enough money for an IPOD Touch. We got up to the register and Jake got the last white one...it was meant to be.

Evan got him some chocolate...yum!

Gift exchange time

 Evan loved his new pillow!

This is Logan with his glasses he got from the scavenger hunt.
Thanks to Grandpa and Grandma...hospitality and food was awesome. Maybe next year the puzzle will get finished.
Thanks to Steve and Pat for making the trek from Iowa and for spoiling our kids.
