This is one of those moments that keep you persevering as a parent...
A couple of weeks ago I had gotten really frustrated with Jake and his attitude. My first reaction was to want to make him feel horrible for it. However, knowing that if I take the time to talk to him about his attitude it could help in the long-term of wanting to have a better attitude not just to stay out of trouble.
After Jake got out of the shower he said that he had something to show me in the bathroom. He wrote with Kacie's bath crayon's on the tile, "I love mom!" "I am so sorry for being selfish."
I thank God for moments like these because in our home they are few and far between. But I see them as a gift because they help me to keep plodding along!
In 2ND grade the teachers introduce to the students how to research and put a short paper together. This March, Jake had to put together a Leprechaun Trap. He first had to figure out what type of apparatus he wanted to make and then figure out what would attract a Leprechaun. This is his final product. The whole family got involved and we all had a good time with it!
In May Addi and Kacie are going to be flower girls in Autumn's wedding. She is Ben's cousin. The girls are more than excited. Since Autumn lives in Michigan we went searching for dresses here and wouldn't you know the first one they tried on we fell in love. We will have them altered so that they fit a little better and we are going to have an orange, wide ribbon around the middle.
