We Have A Place to Live!

God is so good! He provides in ways even when the situation seems like a dead end. But what I am learning is that there is a purpose in His working the impossible...He gets so much more GLORY!
Many of you know that we are closing on our house the 2nd week of Jan. I know not a fun time to move (I am not sure if there is a fun time). Anyways we put our house on the market the middle of Oct. and we got a buyer who offered our asking price. We will not complain at all about the timing especially with the housing market the way it is right now. Because it did sell quickly we have not found another home to buy yet...
Well, as of last Monday evening we were planning on renting a very small duplex because they would take dogs and take less than a year lease. We had our hopeful eyes on a house but the owner did not want dogs. But, someone told us to call the owner again because they thought we could talk him into renting to us. And what do you know...as of Jan. 1st we will be renting a 4 bedroom house with a big back yard for the dogs and a 6 month lease.
Thanks for all of those of you who have been in prayer for this transition. I will be sure to let you all know our new contact info. And we will let you all know when we find our next home to buy. Until then we will enjoy renting...I call it my vacation home:)

Random Christmas Fun

Christmas is such a beautiful time of the year! If life is going well at the time, it seems easy to really see the JOY in celebrating the birth of our Savior. And if life is full of trials, it is a time you can REST in what our Savior has done for us. This time of year is for the young and old, the rich and poor and the hurting. We hope you all continue on with the Christmas Spirit as you welcome in the New Year.
Our Christmas was a lot of fun! With our kids being the ages of 8 and 5 they are really starting to understand why we make such a big deal of our Christ's birth. They would not let us forget to do our Christmas Advent devotional...if we didn't do it for that evening, they would want to do whatever we needed to do to catch up.
Jake was so fun to watch as he had spent some of his own money to buy each of us a gift. It wasn't much but it was SO much...watching his face glow as he watched us open them was priceless!
Kacie really got into helping me decorate the house and the tree. She wanted to know where each ornament came from. Hopefully she will want to help me put it all away :)
Christmas morning we enjoyed time with the four of us. Such a sweet, sweet time. God has truly blessed us with a family that has a lot of fun together. We then headed to Ben's parents for a brunch. Jan made a delicious blueberry french toast casserole. The whole day was very relaxing and wonderful...later in the afternoon Ben's brother and his family came over. We opened gifts and just enjoyed one another.
Here are a few pictures we took...

Kacie showing Sadie's teeth and her own.

As you can tell Kacie LOVES Sadie!

Jake got a Rubik's Cube however Dad is addicted...

Thanksgiving Feasts

Kacie and her pre-school class celebrated Thanksgiving by painting shirts and setting up a tee pee. The kids had a lot of fun. And then at the end of the day they had a big feast together with lots of yummy food!
Our family also enjoyed Thanksgiving as we spent time with family from Iowa and New Mexico. Sorry...I forgot my camera! However we had a great time relaxing and and having a wonderful feast of our own.
