For the past couple of years, Ben every once in awhile would hint around about selling the house. I always took it in stride knowing that Ben was thinking about how things would be different if we did downsize yet knowing I was willing to follow his lead in whatever he was wanting to do. About a month ago we started some serious conversations about our motives in staying in our home and our motives to move. After prayer and seeking council we decided we needed to obey God and put our house up for sale. We still don't know if we are going to have a mountain-top experience through this (if we will actually be moving soon) but what we do know is that obedience is more important than the outcome we have envisioned.

The two motives we found in moving have outweighed the motives for staying. First, without compromising space and the ability to house others in need we could buy an older home and have more money to spend on the Kingdom of God rather than a house payment. Second, Ben likes the idea if he was to lose his job (we are very greaful that his job is stable) his family would not feel much from the financial cut. Thomas A. Kempis describes where the Lord has taken us concerning our home, "Let temporal things serve your use, but the eternal be the object of your desire."

I also want to say thank you to some of you who have already been in prayer for us over this issue. One prayer today at about 5:30pm was answered. I received a phone call from Jake's principal. She gave me much confidence in Jake and Kacie being able to attend Rose Hill Schools even if we live out of district. That was my main concern. We have been very blessed so far in Jake's public school experience and I was having a hard time giving that piece of the puzzle up. God in His mercy decided that I did not have to...

I will keep you all updated on any movement with the house. So far just lookers.

We have really enjoyed having all of the extra space in the basement. We will miss it for sure!!

Fall Takes Us To the Pumpkins

Kacie's pre-school class took a chilly and wet day and set out on a pumpkin adventure. What a joy it was to sit back and watch the kids not care one bit that the weather was damp but find such satisfaction in finding the "perfect pumpkin".

36 Degrees...

The first full weekend in October our small town of Rose Hill has its yearly fall festival. One of the most anticipated activities is the Rose Hill Parade. And it is all about the candy. You either are a kid having candy thrown at you or you are a kid in the parade throwing the candy. We had one of each.

You will notice in the pictures that everyone is bundled up. At 10AM it was 36 degrees. If it were not for my kids I would have been at home in front of the fire under a warm blanket snuggled with my honey.

Happy 4th Birthday Logan!

Logan (Ben's brothers son) decided for his Karsak family birthday celebration he wanted to go and watch Jake in a football game. Jake thought that was pretty cool. Jake said he was going to play his hardest so they could win for Logan...too cute!! And yes, they did win.

After the football game we went and ate pizza and hung out together. We always enjoy being with our wonderful family and watching the cousins have fun!

Like we have done for the last 2 years, the kids played hooky from school and we spent the day at the state fair. The day was overcast and perfect. We had a great day together!

Jake...he actually surprised me this year. He was willing to go on a lot of the "big" rides. It helps to have a buddy around...peer pressure!
