A New-Old Friend

Chloe is the daughter of some dear friends of ours Jason and Denise. We were able to spend a couple of days with her this past week. Kacie and Chloe have not really played with one another except for a handful of times. They had such a giggly, fun time with one another.

School Fun!!

Last Tues. May 6th, Jake's kindergarten class took a field trip to the Sedgwick County Zoo. It was a wonderful overcast day. However, the kids in our group wanted to play at the playground 75% of the time. Let's just say we really didn't see the animals... go figure!!

Jerry and Jacob at the Zoo

On Friday May 9th, the Rose Hill students participated in Kansas Fit Day. Jake and his partner had to finish 30 events in 2 hours. It was a lot of fun watching the kids have a great time together!

Nana and Kacie

My mom drove back with us to Kansas from TX after her graduation. She was able to stay the week with us....she went to the zoo, helped in Jake's classroom, went to Kansas Fit Day, played and read lots to the kids and helped to celebrate Jan's birthday (Ben's mom). Mom, it was such a blessing to have you around! Thanks Grandpa Ron for giving her to us for a week!!

Way to Go Mom!!!

On Sat. May 3rd, Jodie's mom graduated from Wayland Baptist University in Plainview, TX. We are so proud of her for her perseverance in completing her degree in Human Services.
Jake, Kacie and myself were able to travel to celebrate with her and all of the rest of the family.
Mom, you did it, you really, really did it!!

Jake's Music Program

Last night three of the kindergarten classes had a music program. Of course it was very entertaining for the simple fact that 5 and 6 year old kids were the entertainment! Because of the set-up I was not able to get pictures during the performance. However, this is a picture of Jake's class being silly before the program started.

Long, Successful Day

We cannot be more grateful for how the surgery went!! We checked in at 8:30am and the surgery took place at 9:30am. The doctor came out within the hour and said that he was so glad that she was having this procedure done because the adenoids and tonsils were taking up a lot of space. And then about a half an hour after we talked to the doctor Kacie started to wake up.
She was very upset and disoriented. She really wanted her IV out of her hand, she kept saying that it was hurting her. Grandma Jan found the nurse and she checked it and it was fine. Kacie would not settle down so the nurse gave her a little dose of morphine to help her get back to sleep. That was what she needed. When she woke up after taking the morphine she was able to tolerate what was going on.
The rest of the day we watched cartoons, ate popsicles and did lots of snuggling. Finally at 6pm they decided it would be OK for us to take Kacie home. Yes, it was a long day! However, we are so glad to know that this will benefit her so much...last night she slept more peaceful than she has in months!!
Thank you God for taking care of the details of it all and for family and friends who love us and pray for us!!

HAPPY EASTER

Our family loves this time of year when the trees have a haze of green, the flowers are showing signs of life and the grass is starting to green up. I personally love how our God has given us this time of Spring when "new life" is all around us. And we get to celebrate our "new life" in Christ. We hope you all had a wonderful Easter!

Kacie's First Cleaning

Kacie was very excited about being able to get her teeth cleaned like her big brother. Jake got his teeth cleaned first and then Kacie hopped right onto the seat. When she got up there she opened her mouth as big as she could. It was pretty cute!
